last minutes with oden

This is a film i recenlty cam across, its an emotional and well shot piece about the last minutes of a pet and its owner. i found the tears start to for as i ca relate because i have a dog and no the unconditional luv that it can show.

"This short film is more than the loss of a dog.

It's about the loss of a family member/close friend.

So I hope the narrow minded idiots stop saying "It's only a dog..."

Because the Oden symbolizes a loved one, not only a pet"

The 'New' Rwanda

On wednesday morning after yet another lecture on the in's and out's of running your own business such as tax, overheads, stationary and travel we were uplifted. Out of those grey uncomfortable prisons they call seats in the lecture theatre and to a bright colourful world thanks to the speaking of our saviour Mike Press. once again he brought me back from the lad of nod and showed how art can help bring dignity back to a person as well as teaching a nation how to imagine, visually create, and move forward. Mike spoke about Rwanda and african country that after a great tragedy has moved forward at a great pace to benefit there people, one of these benefits which has only been recognised recently is the value or art. Once thought not to be an integral part of life as is literacy and numeracy. However views have changed art can bring communities together, help them over come the terrible things they have seen, as well as allowing the nation as a whole to visualise new ways to move forward and create new product/ service that lye in the dreams of many but are only created by the few.

I say good luck to rwanda and if ever an opportunities arises to go there I will gab it with both hand and embrace there new age.

Good Creative

After a weekend of long nights and stressful days to complete an advanced mood board we finally got to me Keith Forbes head of good creative and his head of design. I began the day nervous thinking these two would be very judgemental of what i had produced wanting answers for all the aspects that I created- type faces, colour palettes, graphics. this was not the case tho, both were very positive in there assessment which resulted in my 7minute widow turning into more like 20minute. they loved my new choice of name (whole some fruits) saying that a return to old values/view are a trend that is on the rise. however due to the name i was confusing the consumer with my fruit characters, so they have now been dropped.

I am now looking towards a more this water approach as seen below

The brand has moved forward to kate's wholesome fruits, with a tag line such as 'get a whole lot of vitamins with a visual graphic to accompany this. so here to good creative and good communication.

Jane and John Doe

Finally i have finished my groups post consumers poster, which if i don't say so has turned out quiet well. this is a general overview of the thought of our group on the 'typical' post consumer.

Feel free to add anything that you feel may add to this.

thenameTHENAMEthename!

After an hour of looking, sounding and trying a number of names i this i may have cracked it, with the help of my old friend the trusty 'mind map'

I came to the conclusion that potions seems to be more man made than natural! So the new word/name on the street Kate's wholesome fruits yeah the word is WHOLESOME this helps to show the the natural side of this non-corprate brand as well as helping to back my back story up about the fruit characters being raised on a fruit farm and the adventures they have.

so any comments?

remember think WHOLESOME x

Ze group meeting

My design studies group me up today to discuss today post consumer? Its fair to say we all had different opinions of what we thought this was. However after some miner tweaking we were able to come up with some thing that we all agreed on. the profile we drew up was

'make do and mend', no price tag on life, sustainable, middle class, fair trade, lush family orientated, meat free mondays and into outdoor activities ohh yeah and is 30+

kates fruit potions

We have recently gain a new brief for a graphic design company 'Good Creative' to re brand a nutritious kids drink made from all natural ingredients, which can be easy put into the child's lunch box.remembering that this drink is fronted by a mother and not a faceless corporate giant.

I have done my essential research on similar products that are out there such as innocent smoothies, Ribena, fruit shots and many more. i have also looked into the sizes, shapes and colour of these to see what the consumers are preferable to.

i have sketched out some mock up bottles and have started to experement with paper in the 3d format and o what fun has been had although some times it can be slighty tricky and annoying the icture will be up loaded soon :)

lookin around

Having come away from my lecture today somewhat more confused and even more illuminated in my future job prospect and the way our young creative mind work i have begun to look at other peoples views on the world as well as the many different opinions, of the masses. i have discovered a young girl who has won channel 4s blogger of the year her blogs are interesting to say the least so have a lookhttp://hiyalouise.blogspot.com/2011/01/jordan-rice-hero-of-australian-floods.html

The futures creative!

As I'm sitting in the dreaded lecture theatre, I am learning that there are no boundrie for me or us as a creative group in our future job prospects, this is due to the way we are able to use our specific tools to engage into other disciplines so here's to the wonderful and colorful adventure i am going to take when I graduate.
